Regular Meeting of the Village Board Held on April _____
Board Members approached again by Great Valley Developer
By Stephanie Keis Timblin
Board members were provided a brief summary by Peter Kreinheder of Ellicottville Brewing Company on the status of his proposed changes and improvements to the alleyway and traffic pattern near his restaurant. The Planning Board has not yet made a final recommendation for the proposals.
A recap of the sentiments offered at previous Village Board meetings was provided as a result of several board members who were approached regarding previously proposed additions to the sewer and water system by a potential developer in adjacent Great Valley. The Village Board is resolute that in order for any connection to proceed, the land would have to be annexed in order to compensate for expenses related to the project via tax dollars.
Sewer, DPW, and code enforcement officer reports were provided and reviewed by the board. Mayor Charles Coolidge also indicated that further investigation and work is being completed on the sewer and water bill software that has been experiencing problems.
The Center for Family Unity contacted the board regarding a Roadblock Fundraiser that will be held at the intersection of Routes 219 and 242 on May 20, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Additionally, the Ellicottville Teachers’ Association will conduct a boot drive on (Which we were unable to confirm before press) , beginning at 8:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day to support their Relay for Life Team and the American Cancer Society.
Further correspondence from the Town of Ellicottville Police Department and Sgt. James Bouchard was reviewed in recognition of the actions taken by board member Sherman Wilkens in his continued dedication to assisting the citizens of Ellicottville.
